Supporting families when they need it most
This Christmas, One Stop Franchise has chosen to support a cause close to many hearts by making a £10,000 donation to long-standing charity partner Young Lives vs Cancer.
Following feedback from franchisees that they would prefer to support a charity rather than receive traditional festive gifts, One Stop redirected its Christmas gesture to make a meaningful impact where it is most needed.
The donation will help fund the vital work Young Lives vs Cancer carries out across the UK, supporting young people with cancer and their families during some of the most challenging times of their lives.
Recently, John Miller, Head of Franchise, and Jack Taylor, Community and Partnerships Manager, visited Billy’s House in Nottingham—one of Young Lives vs Cancer’s “Homes from Home”—to learn more about the charity’s work and to formally present the donation to the dedicated team who run the home.

Supporting families through Homes from Home
Young Lives vs Cancer operates 10 Homes from Home across the UK, offering free accommodation to families while a child or young person is undergoing cancer treatment. Located close to major treatment centres, the homes help reduce the financial strain of travel, accommodation and food costs, while allowing families to stay together during an incredibly difficult period.
More than just a place to stay, the homes provide comfort, warmth and a sense of normality—offering home-cooked meals, fresh pyjamas and a calm space away from the hospital environment.
The story behind Billy’s House
Billy’s House opened in 2009 and is named after Billy Greenall, who received treatment at Nottingham University Hospitals Queen’s Medical Centre. After experiencing the challenges of travelling long distances for treatment, Billy was determined to help other families avoid the same hardship. Alongside his family and supporters, he helped raise the funds needed to create the home, which continues to support families today. Billy later returned with friends and family to celebrate the home’s 10th anniversary.

Making a real difference
The £10,000 donation from One Stop Franchise could help fund 20 families to stay together for a full week at one of Young Lives vs Cancer’s Homes from Home—providing comfort, stability and support at a time when it matters most.
One Stop Franchise is proud to support Young Lives vs Cancer and to play a small part in helping families stay close, supported and cared for during their cancer journey.
