Single Pick Lines now Saving One Stop Franchisees over £5k a year

9 September 2016

One Stop have increased the amount of single pick lines available to their franchisees. With more than 280 lines now available, they account for 10% of sales across the business.

With a strong focus on chilled and produce lines, stores are now saving an average of £100 per week on markdown and waste. Other categories that are benefiting include grocery, off license and non-food. This change has reduced stockholding and improved franchisees cash flow, as well as delivering a significant improvement in on shelf availability and freshness of product, particularly when paired with One Stop’s auto-replenishment system.

“My customers already love the range and prices, so it’s great that the wider choice of single pick products allows me to offer them even better availability and freshness, said Aleem Choudhry of One Stop Prestatyn. One of the key benefits to us is not having to worry about waste and markdown as much, when wanting to introduce new products into the range. It’s also much simpler to manage with a reduced need to replenish from stock.”

Over the last few months One Stop have also added more than 20 slow selling tobacco lines to the single pick range. The introduction of these will free up more valuable cash and help franchisees to grow their sales in a challenging category. To further support franchisees, One Stop have protected their margins by absorbing the increased picking costs of all the additional single picked lines.

John Miller, Head of Operations commented, “In franchise we focus on driving sales, reducing costs and creating efficiencies that help franchisees margins. Single picked lines help with all of the above and more importantly, delivers a better customer shopping experience through greater availability.”
