Scottish consumers buy into the One Stop Proposition

6 January 2016

Javid and Shaista Iqbal joined One Stop in Summer 2015. After trading through their first Christmas as a One Stop Franchise they are delighted with the performance compared to Christmas 2014. They have seen a +37.5% in sales in the week leading up to Christmas versus the previous year, and Christmas day sales were +25% on what traditionally can be a tough trading day.

Javid shares his view on the success factors, ‘Our offer this year for customers was very different from what we had last year. This year we had a complete offer which competed with both local competition and the multiples. Our 3 for £5 on boxed chocolates was a great success, and our beer, wine and spirit promotions were far more relevant this year both in price and range.’

‘One Stop’s POS package was outstanding and made the atmosphere in our store very festive. Availability and delivery of products was excellent and the support from the Franchise Team is in a different class from anything we have experienced before. Most importantly, our customers loved the offer and they made our store the preferred destination for local shopping.’

Great deals that were in store during the period were 3 for £5 on boxed chocolates and some Scottish specific offers including Irn Bru 2L at £1 and Tennents Lager 15 pack for £9.99.

Galen Levi, Head of Proposition at One Stop Franchise commented;
‘We always want to deliver the best offers and value to our customers. Since being part of the Scottish market we have been listening to our Scottish franchisees and consumers; adapting the instore offer to support real year on year sales and profit growth.’
