One Stop celebrates 700th store opening

15 November 2013

One Stop Stores Limited celebrated the opening of its 700th store on Thursday 14 November.

The store with the honour of being its 700th site is based at Ivel Court, Letchworth in Hertfordshire and is one of three stores that opened on the same day. Previously trading as a Costcutter, the store has been completely refurbished and brings the renowned One Stop value, range and service to customers in the area.

The growing convenience store group has already opened 30 new stores in the current financial year and has just completed a deal with Alfred Jones to purchase 33 Spar stores. The stores are due to be refurbished by January 2014.

One Stop’s Property Director, Mark Williams, stated on the day:
“We’re delighted to have surpassed the 700 store mark, as we continue to invest in the business and bring One Stop’s range and value to local communities across England and Wales. The new store has created more local jobs and our colleagues are really looking forward to opening their doors to the people of Letchworth and delivering the high standard of customer service One Stop is renowned for.

“We plan to open further stores in the coming months, but we’re always on the lookout for additional sites, so that we can introduce the One Stop shopping experience to even more communities.”
