One Stop Franchise celebrates double success!

27 November 2014

One Stop Franchise is celebrating a double awards success following two recent Awards evenings – both of them won by the same franchisee!

Dee Sedani, who owns the One Stop franchise store in Matlock, Derbyshire won the Innovation category at the Asian Trader Awards on 19 November, in a glittering event at London’s Park Plaza Westminster. The success marked the first award win by One Stop Franchise, since it was launched earlier this year. One week on and Dee is celebrating again, after scooping the Environmental Sustainability Award at the Independent Achievers’ Academy (IAA) awards last night (26 November).

In winning the Asian Trader Innovation award, which was sponsored by Nestle Confectionery, the judges recognised how Dee has integrated technology throughout his store. Everything from fridge temperatures, to lighting and the cash count can be controlled via specially developed Apps from anywhere in the world. Since tying up with One Stop Franchise, turnover has increased and, by taking deliveries three times a week, waste is down by 50 per cent.

To cap a fantastic week, Dee then scooped the Environmental Sustainability award, sponsored by News UK, at the IAA awards. The event was held at the Sheraton Park Lane Hotel as part of the only business programme that both develops and rewards news & convenience retailers. The judging panel of industry experts were impressed by the savings One Stop Matlock made by implementing sustainable alternatives in store, by switching to LED and halogen bulbs, putting timers on all plugs and investing in efficient refrigerator doors. The store has now reduced its energy bills by 42 per cent as a result.

Andrew King, One Stop Franchise Director, stated:
“We’re delighted to have won the first awards for our franchise team and congratulate Dee on his amazing success – what a week it’s been! We hope they’ll be the first of many, as we have some great retailers within One Stop Franchise.”
