One Stop appoints new Director for Franchise

7 April 2014

One Stop Stores Limited has today appointed Andrew King, the former Costcutter director, to the new position of Franchise Director.

Andrew has been consulting with One Stop since January 2013, bringing his extensive knowledge of the independent sector to the group’s evolving franchise offer and is welcomed onto One Stop’s Board as the proposition becomes a business unit in its own right. Mark Everitt, Group Financial Director for One Stop, who has been responsible for the conceptual development of franchise and successfully bringing it to market, will now hand over full control to Andrew whilst remaining involved from a strategic perspective.

Andrew has almost 30 years’ experience in the retail sector, encompassing senior commercial and operational roles in both company and symbol stores, including Kwik Save, Iceland and more latterly as Group Strategic Operations Director at Costcutter. Andrew has also previously worked in the commercial team at One Stop from 1998 to 2003 as Buying and Merchandising Director.

Tony Reed, CEO of One Stop Stores stated:
“Mark and Andrew have worked closely over the last year and, following a three month handover period, I’m delighted to welcome Andrew onto the Board and look forward to working with him to develop our franchise offer to its full potential. We believe it’s one of the most exciting initiatives to hit the convenience sector for many years. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mark Everitt for bringing Franchise to life; he has driven the project over the last eighteen months with a vision, clarity and uniqueness that has undoubtedly secured its future. Without Mark’s drive, energy and commitment, we simply would not be in the position we are today of having such an exciting part of our business to watch grow and develop. ”
