Independents’ turnover boosted by almost 40% as One Stop franchise builds momentum

Six months since it was officially launched, the One Stop Franchise scheme is growing at pace, with significant interest from both unaffiliated stores and retailers across the symbol spectrum.

One Stop franchisees are now trading throughout England and Wales and its independent retailers are reaping the benefits of operating under the One Stop brand, as turnover increases are averaging almost 40% across all full franchise stores (excluding cold starts).

One Stop Franchise Director Andrew King revealed:
"The fact that we now have franchise stores from every symbol group, as well as previously unaffiliated retailers, shows that our package has wide appeal for good progressive independents.

Our proposition is unique, as we are a genuine retail partner with expertise in the convenience market. We’ve taken our time to develop a tried and tested model, to ensure that our franchisees benefit from something that is completely different. We’re here to add value to an independent’s business and the knowledge we have from running our own stores has been successfully applied to our franchisees’ stores. We’re working in partnership with our franchisees to build a long-term, profitable and sustainable business.

We’ve had some really positive and open dialogue with hundreds of retailers over the last few months. They’ve told us that our 'soft selling' approach is a refreshing change. We’re not just ramping up store numbers; we need to be confident that we can add value to a business. That's been quite an eye-opener for a lot of retailers, but they do respect our honesty. And our policy of offering exclusivity within a specific radius has clearly increased the clamour for a franchise!"

One Stop franchise store manager, Jazz, in Leeds has seen his sales grow by over 80% since making the switch and stated:
"Becoming a One Stop franchisee has been great for our business and we’re delighted with the impact on trade. Our owner considered all of the symbol groups in the past and I’m pleased we waited to see what One Stop was all about. They've helped us to improve how we run our store, but we’re still very much in charge of our own destiny. The new chilled range launched earlier this year has been really popular and our customers absolutely love the new store!
