One Stop Franchise driving Scottish expansion

6 August 2015

One Stop is set to open three fully re-fitted franchise stores during September, as its move into Scotland continues to generate huge interest amongst independent retailers.

The new One Stop franchises include the two stores that began trading in June, at the same time as the company launched two of its own sites in Fallin and Glenrothes. In addition, a cold start site is currently in the final stages of preparation prior to its refit.

One Stop intends to grow from the central belt outwards, opening a mixture of company-owned and franchise stores, although it’s anticipated that the latter will expand more rapidly.

Andrew King, One Stop’s Franchise Director revealed:
“It’s likely that we’ll have up to 10 franchise stores opening before the end of our financial year. All Scottish stores to date are trading well and we’re continuing to develop and hone our Scottish consumer offer. It’s been great to have the company sites to show prospective retailers, but we can’t wait to get some franchise stores refitted and allow potential franchisees to really see the model in action. We’ve had interest across the board from both unaffiliated and symbol operators and it’ll be really useful for them to speak to their fellow retailers and find out how the model works in practice. Once the three fully re-branded stores open in September we think retailers will be even more attracted to what franchise can offer them.”
