One Stop leadership team celebrates new skills with CMI qualifications

One Stop’s leadership team are celebrating their new skills after completing a range of qualifications and training from the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

Twenty seven senior managers have completed the Level 7 Qualification in Strategic Management & Leadership, delivered by One Stop in partnership with the CMI. Subjects covered included personal development as a strategic leader, personal presentation with impact, managing organisational culture, being a strategic leader and measuring potential – all key skills for One Stop’s current leadership team. The certificates were presented to the entire team during a recent Awards evening which also saw One Stop’s Head of Maintenance, Steve Alexander, collect the ‘CMI Recognition Award’ for his development journey and the implementation of the learning into his role.

Paula Byrne, One Stop’s People Director said:
“Investing in the development of our colleagues is very important to us, as is having the best possible managers, which is why we decided to invest in CMI training and qualifications. The whole process has been extremely successful, with colleagues enjoying the course and seeing a benefit from their learning. We’re giving our people the skills to be a great leader in a growing business and I’m confident our new CMI-trained managers will make a real difference to the performance of our company. This is part of an ongoing plan which provides our colleagues with an industry-recognised qualification, sustains their learning and ensures they are well-qualified to carry out their roles.”

I’d like to congratulate all of those who gained new qualifications on their fantastic achievement.” The leadership team’s success marks the latest chapter in One Stop’s ongoing commitment to developing its people. Last year, its team of Area Managers completed the CMI Level 5 Qualification in Management & Leadership and the business will soon be launching this programme to all other line managers in its Support Centre and Distribution Centres. Future plans include rolling out the programme to all store managers and incorporating the training into all new managerial inductions.
